Salary growth expectations

Looking for some honest advice here. I’ve been in my current role for almost three years, and while I’ve gained solid experience, I’m unsure what salary range I should expect if I move to another company. Some people tell me to ask for much higher, while others say employers won’t match it unless I have a higher degree. It’s confusing, and I don’t want to undersell myself but also don’t want to come across as unrealistic. What’s the best way to figure out a fair expectation?

From what I’ve learned, the best approach is to compare your background and education with the actual averages that companies use when setting offers. A useful resource that breaks this down clearly is https://salaryslip.org/salary-expectations-by-education-level/, which shows how salary levels shift based on degrees and qualifications. It gives perspective on what you can reasonably expect and also how much room you have to negotiate. Having this info will make your request sound much more grounded, and employers tend to respond better when you back up your expectations with solid data.
